Wearable Air Conditioner
Summers seem to be getting hotter. To help you stay cool and sweat free, Sony has come up with a solution with the Reon Pocket. It's about the size of a computer mouse and slips into a pouch in a special t-shirt. This allows you to wear a business suit in the middle of summer with comfort.
You can also use the Reon Pocket during your workouts to keep yourself from overheating. Sony claims it can lower your body temperature by 23 degrees F and raise it by 14 degrees F.
Temperature is controlled with a mobile app but a future update promises automatic mode.
According to Sony, the battery on the Reon Pocket can last up to 24 hours on a single charge but that's just for the bluetooth connection. Actual battery life while the Reon Pocket is in use is more like 2 hours. This might be enough in most cases. You'd need to buy more Reon Pockets if you want it to keep you cool longer.
For countries where it's always hot, the Reon Pocket could be a welcome relief. Unfortunately, it's currently only available for order in Japan through a Japanese crowdfunding campaign. The earliest it's expected to ship is March 2020. It's perfect fo the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Price starts at ¥12,760 (about $117).
