Sequent Fitness Watch – Charges itself and never needs charging

Converts kinetic energy into electrical energy

Special mechanism in the Sequent Fitness Watch turns kinetic energy into electricity to power itself and all of its smart features including activity tracking, step counting, calorie burn monitoring, sleep tracking, and GPS recording.

Only the SuperCharger² HR version comes with a heart rate monitor.

All activities are tracked and automatically stored on the watch. You can sync the data to your iOS or Android device by double tapping the crown. You can see your activity progress without syncing by looking at the semi-circle on the watch.

Even though it comes with a charger, there is no need to charge unless you don't use it for up to 2 years.

The Sequent watch is waterproof up to a depth of 50m.

Made with the environment in mind

Parts of the Sequent watch including the strap and some internal electronics components are made of Ocean plastic.

Three recycled plastic bottles are used to makes the straps alone.

Pros

  • No need to charge as long you use it
  • Looks good
  • Can be synced with iOS and Android

Cons

  • Indiegogo and Kickstarter Campaign
  • Does not sync to your phone automatically
  • Unproven capabilites

Conclusion:

The Sequent watch is a great idea but so far it has been disappointing judging comments on Youtube and from their Indiegogo.

At the time of writing, some are still waiting for their watches and some who do have theirs in hand complain of difficulty in setting up, battery issues, connectivity issues, and more. Here and there we see people calling it junk – a $200++ junk.

It's probably a good idea to avoid this product for the time being even though it has been successfully funded on both Indiegogo and Kickstarter. Look at the comments! Wait for the company to sort out its quality issue or all its other issues for that matter.

However, we think the company will not be around for long. We hope we're wrong though and we wish Sequent success.
