Dost Crate Cargo Cruiser designed for heavy loads while remaining compact

440 lbs capacity, customizable utility, and long-range capabilities

The Dost Crate Cargo Cruiser is an innovative electric cargo bike from Canadian ebike maker, Dost Bikes. It is designed to offer a versatile and efficient alternative to car trips for transporting cargo, including passengers and goods. The bike boasts a compact yet cargo-ready frame, capable of handling up to 440 lbs (200 kg) of weight. Despite its impressive hauling capacity, the Crate is about the same length as a regular city bike, making it easy to maneuver and park.

Equipped with a powerful 750-W Bafang M600 mid-drive motor that delivers up to 92 lb-ft (125 Nm) of torque, the bike provides five torque-sensor-controlled pedal-assist modes, as well as an on-demand twist throttle. The standard lithium battery offers a range of 60 miles (96.5 km) and can be extended up to 120 miles (193 km) with the optional dual-battery system.

The Enviolo Automatiq CVT seamlessly changes gears based on motor output and is paired with a Gates Carbon belt drive for a smooth, quiet ride. The sturdy 6061 aluminum frame and fork provide a stable platform without the added weight of steel, while the 24-inch wheels with 3-inch-wide tires offer a lower center of gravity, integrated shock absorption, and an approachable standover height.

Customizable utility options allow the rider to tailor the bike to their specific needs, with a range of accessories such as passenger seats, panniers, rear baskets, and front racks. The bike is also designed to comfortably carry a rider with two young children or one adult passenger.

Additional features include a 100-lux headlight with high and low beam settings, a red brake light, a heavy-duty wishbone kickstand, and a 3.2-inch multi-color LCD cockpit display. The Dost Crate Cargo Cruiser is available for pre-order, with prices starting at $4,999 and shipping scheduled to begin in December 2023.
