There are a growing number of electric skateboards to choose from in 2017. The XTND Board is one of the better ones. It has artificial intelligence that collects data on the way you ride to improve performance and efficiency. It also knows when you're standing on it and won't move without you. Even without the smart features, the XTND is still a pretty good board. It almost look like a normal longboard with no visible batteries and the absence of a belt drive. At the same time it also looks futuristic with it's simple yet elegant design. The board is made of carbon fibre, titanium, and space grade materials and weighs 6.6 lbs (3.3 kg). That's lighter than “the world's lightest electric skateboard” – the Blink Lite, which weighs 7.7 lbs (3.5 kg). It also has a unique anti-slip surface that is safe on clothes. The powerful motor and weight translates into a top speed of 28 mph (45 kph). For comparison the Boosted Board (second generation) has a top speed of 22 mph (35 kph). The XTND board also has a better range at 12.5 miles (20 km) compared to Boosted Board's 7 mile range. The Enertion Raptor 2 though has a 25 mile (40 km) range but the XTND has a swappable battery that's easily removed.
Update: The XTND Kickstarter was successfully funded but the project owner did not deliver and a lot of people lost their money. Another Kickstarter scam among many.
