Small, Lightweight and Easy-to-Mount Camera – Insta360 Go

insta360 go mounted on chest

Chest Mount not required

Most people use their phones to record video for social media. It's a great option since you're already carrying it around all the time. A GoPro camera or a DJI Osmo Action would add bulk to your pocket and that's why most people don't usually carry them all the time.

So why would you want to be carrying around the Insta360 Go? Because unlike a smartphone, it's easy to mount so you can do a first-person-view type of deal and have your hands free to do everything else.

The Insta360 Go has a magnetic body and with the included Magnet Pendent that you wear like a necklace under your shirt you can easily stick it on your chest without any visible chest mount. The magnet is strong too so you don't have to worry about it falling off.

Also because of the magnet, sticking it to its other mounting options and to switch between them is quick and easy. There is no need to mess around with screws.

Smallest Stabilized Action Camera

The Insta360 Go is the size of an airpod case top and weighs 18.3 grams. Because of this, you can put it in places where it was not possible before with your smartphone or a GoPro to get a cool perspective. The charging case is about the same size as an airpod case and weighs 43.4 grams.

The Go is Insta360's first non-360 camera but it has the same impressive Flowstate stabilization. There's no need for a gimbal to get smooth footage.

Not a GoPro Replacement

The Insta360 Go is not meant to be a serious action camera like the GoPro or DJI Osmo Action. For normal videos it only takes shorts clips at 60 seconds max.

It does however make a great life-logging camera or for creating content for social media. Simply press the button to record instantly and you don't have to worry about ending up with a 45 minute clip because you forgot to turn it off.

The button is placed at the back of the camera but it can be activated by pressing the front of the camera.

You can also use the Insta360 Go to record hyperlapse videos for up to 30 minutes for a 5-minute video or a static timelapse for up to 8 hours for a 9-second video.

A cool feature of the Insta360 Go is Interval Video where it automatically shoots multiple videos of 15-30 seconds each from 1 minute to 1 day apart. There's also an option to edit your clip automatically for quick and easy video production.

The camera is IPX4 rated so you don't have to worry about a few drops of water but you should not submerge it longer than 10 seconds.

When it comes to video quality, it doesn't even compare with GoPro or DJI. There aren't many resolution and frame rate options and it tends to struggle in low light.

Also the battery life is only about 60 minutes or 200 clips worth of about 18 seconds each.
