One might assume that skates that propel you forward with its own motor would make it easier to get from point A to point B. Not so with the RocketSkates. It takes a bit of getting used to and with each skate weighing about 7 lbs, it can be quite a workout to control when you're a beginner.
The recommended way to use it is by putting one foot leaning in front (with the skates on of course) and use the other to push off and balance. The motor on the skates are activated when you lean your foot forward.
When an expert does it, it seems easy and looks like a lot of fun.
